DIMENSIONAL RANGE:

This isn’t a dimensional standard in the classic NPS/DN or Class/PN sense, and we don’t try to force it into that box. What ISO 10675 actually sets is a set of acceptance levels, typically labelled 1, 2 and 3 with increasing severity, that scale the permitted size of porosity, inclusions, cracks and other imperfections to the thickness of the welded joint being examined. So instead of a pipe-size range, the real “envelope” here is a thickness-indexed table of indication limits, and which level applies is a project decision driven by service severity rather than something the standard fixes on its own.

Part 1 covers steel, nickel, titanium and their alloys; Part 2 covers aluminium. It’s the bridge document between “here’s the radiograph” (ISO 17636) and “is this weld acceptable” (ISO 5817).

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Always confirm which edition is cited in the project specification, acceptance limits have been refined across editions, and using an outdated correlation table is a classic source of disputed rejections.
