Advanced Technology Integration

Senior engineering expertise integrated into your team to bring alternative fuels, fuel cells and other emerging technologies onboard – from technical assessment to full system integration

Intro

Flowazur combines hands-on onboard experience with formal engineering expertise in advanced specialized design software. This dual skillset is what allows us to integrate novel technologies onboard. We continuously evaluate new technologies and manufacturers to bring proven, integrable solutions to our clients, including fuel cells, low-flashpoint fuel systems and other waste heat recovery systems

Depending on Where Your Project Stands

This engagement can start in two ways: from the design phase, working alongside your engineering department as new equipment is specified – or from an onboard inspection of the existing vessel, if you are evaluating a retrofit.

See Onboard & Drydock Piping Engineering Support for the second route.

When This Service Comes Into Play

This service applies in two scenarios: new builds where alternative fuels, fuel cells, or other emerging technologies are part of the design brief, and retrofit projects on operating vessels where new technology must be integrated into an existing marine system. For new builds, Flowazur works alongside your shipyard’s engineering department; for retrofits, Flowazur carries out the full engineering in-house on behalf of the shipowner, partnering with specialist electrical and automation providers where required

What We Do

We carry out system integration studies for new technologies — either adapting existing systems to the new technology, or designing new auxiliary systems where required. This involve assessing operational compatibility between new and existing systems, and leading the integration engineering for alternative fuel systems (methanol and ammonia), fuel cell systems, and other low-emission technologies.

Particular attention is given to hydraulic, thermal, and power calculations, spatial constraints, system interfaces, equipment control, and overall system operability – reducing integration risk before construction begins

Technologies We Work With

  • Fuel Cells For  Alternative Fuels (MeOH & NH3)
  • Heat Recovery Steam Generator(HRSG)
  • Other Emerging Marine Technologies

How We Deliver

For shipyard engagements, Flowazur works directly with the engineering department to provide the piping and machinery engineering support needed to properly integrate the new system onboard.

For shipowner engagements delivered in partnership, the service starts with an in-depth onboard inspection to assess the marine system and collect all relevant engineering documentation for the existing vessel. Flowazur then produces a preliminary concept document for the integration to be carried out during drydock. Once the client approves the proposed solution, the full engineering work is carried out by Flowazur – responsible for the piping engineering, while electrical and automation engineering is handled by our partner

Guarantees

  • Expert support for complex and novel systems, not standard piping alone.
  • Easy, smooth communication through scheduled calls and structured updates with all the parties involved.
  • A solid technical partner at your side- not just a contractor.

Engagement Options

Project-based, scoped after receiving your project information and goals. A monthly cooperation model is also available, with a discount on standard rates for clients managing multiple projects.

FAQ

Q: What alternative fuels does Flowazur have experience integrating?

A: Methanol and ammonia

Q: Do you handle electrical and automation engineering as well as piping?

A: Our direct responsibility is the piping and marine system engineering. In partnership engagements, electrical and automation engineering is carried out by our specialist partner, so the client receives one coordinated integration package.

Q: We are a shipyard, not a shipowner — can you still support us?

A: Yes. For shipyards, we work directly with your engineering department during the design phase to provide the piping and machinery solution needed to integrate the new technology.

Q: Does this service always start with a design brief, or can it start from an existing vessel?

A: Both. It can start from the design phase for new builds, or from an onboard inspection of an existing vessel when a retrofit is being evaluated — in which case it connects directly to our Onboard & Drydock Piping Engineering Support.
